In preparation for our 2024 Jubilee, a small group of the apartment dwellers on St. Clare Campus discerned together to undertake some group opportunities to make our respective Jubilee one of personal significance. We began our efforts by reading and sharing on the book: “The Inner Work of Age: Role to Soul” by Connie Zweig over a three- month interval.
The text challenged us to have a serious life review and to determine our well-being on every level: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Sharing together offered us personal insights and connected us as a group in truly sharing the journey of our lives.
A second step we took was to commit to a few retreat days at a local spirituality center. It was in this setting that we focused our sharing on our SFP story. In these days our exchange covered: how we each came to the SFP family, where we walked over the decades of life, the many faces of God we came to know and cherish, the changes we lived through and were better for and how our good God walked with us and most often before us.
In all of our rich exchange, we came away knowing and appreciating one another on a deeper level as sisters to one another.
We wish to pass on a few precious gems of our bonding:
· Dare to be a Risktaker for God.
· Be attentive to the “small voice” within.
· Know and be assured that it is in giving that we receive, in this life and the next.
