From may 5 to 9, 2025, the XXIII Plenary Assembly of the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) was held with the title: “Consecrated Life: A Hope that Transforms.” Among the more than 900 Superiors General who attended the meeting were also Sr. Wilma Molinari, Congregational Minister of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, and Sr. Martha Kruszynski, General Superior of the Sisters of the Poor of St. Francis (SPSF). Sr. Tiziana Merletti, SFP, was also present as canonical consultant.
In this time of prayer, sharing and discernment, the participants recognized themselves as “consecrated women, entrusted with the same call to be disciples of Christ through the service of leadership in our Congregations”.
They also affirmed their commitment to be more and more:
- women of peace, resilient, capable of staying close to the wounds of the world;
- women who reject exclusion and discrimination;
- witnesses of Christ’s light;
- synodal women, builders of inclusive communities;
- prophetic women, who continue to be signs of hope.
