The Prenovice Marie Angèle Coly recounts for us two of her formation experiences in Senegal.
The first regards her participation in the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Assembly in Senegal:
In January I had my first experience at the Assembly of the SFP Charismatic Family in Senegal, in the presence of the Congregational Minister, Sr. Wilma Molinari, and Congregational Councilor, Sr. Sophie Emilie Dioh. I really appreciated Sr. Wilma’s speech about contemplation and on the meeting between Mary and Elizabeth.
The sharing of the working groups and of the personal meditations allowed me to express myself freely and to nourish my heart, both humanly and spiritually.
Entering prayer while experiencing God’s closeness encouraged me to go within myself, where God’s spirit resides. This experience permitted me to discover the Lord’s face more and to draw nearer to Him. I understood the meaning of prayer and I learned to live better in community.
This Assembly helped me to allow myself to be guided by the Holy Spirit and to open my heart to the other members of the Charismatic Family.

The second is Marie Angèle’s account of what she experienced during the feast of the patron saint of the city of Samine, also celebrated at the end of January:
The feast of the patron saint of Samine brought together almost all the faithful, and this was the most important thing for me.
I give thanks to the Lord for His Spirit who has guided and illuminated me and has given me the opportunity to show my talents while helping the girls to prepare for dance performances.
Commitment and responsibility help us to grow in our daily lives. Being responsible and committed in our human and spiritual life allows us to be aware of our faith and each day’s lived experience.
Through this experience, I was able to understand the meaning of responsibility and commitment. This will help me in my daily life as a young woman in formation.
